Lentil soup like my grandmother used to make
Rinse lentils (or split peas) in water.
Peel and roughly chop onions and carrots
Fry onions until soft.
Put carrots, lentilsand water (or stock) in pan and bring it slowly to boil. Simmer for about 30 minutes, or until carrots are cooked.
Liquidise and return to pan. Add salt and pepper, bay leaves. Cook for about 20 minutes more. then add frankfurters and lemon juice, cook for about another 5 mins.
Serve hot with whatever bread you fancy
Important to wash the lentils because if you don't, won't get velvety texture.
