Preheat oven to 180°C.
Heat some oil in a pan, add the onion and the mince and cook until browned. If any fat, drain.
In a pan start to boil the macaroni for 5 minutes.
In a large oven proof dish, layer half of the macaroni, half of the mince, some mushroom soup and tomato soup, garlic and a little water. Then layer again in the same order finishing with some of the soup and a little water. Add any extra ingredients that you wish.
Don't add too much water as the dish will end up soggy but just enough to dilute the soup. Place in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, then remove and stir. Put back in the oven until piping hot for another 10 minutes.
Remove from oven, sprinkle grated cheese, either parmesan or cheddar (depends on your preference) and serve with garlic bread and salad. Yum!
Tip: If you would like to add more vegetables you can add chopped mushrooms or peppers (or whatever vegetables you prefer) before adding the soup.
