A trial and errorist.
Place the butter andsugar in the mixing bowl and mix together until nice and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one by one, adding a little flour after each egg.
Using a (metal) spoon fold in the flour and cocoa powder.
Place the mixture in Two greased 18cm tins, put in the oven at 160c or gas mark3, for 25 to 35 mins.Then put onto a cooling tray.
For the icing. Put all the ingredients in the mixing bowl, and mix slowly until smooth.
cut each cake horizontally and sandwich the layers together with icing between them.Spread some icing on the sides and put the almonds aaround the sides.Put the remaining icing on the top and pipe the edges.
