Preheat the oven to Gas 7, 220°C, fan 200°C.
Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta according to the packet instructions.
Meanwhile, chop the bacon into small strips and fry in its own fat, adding a small amount of vegetable oil if necessary. After 2 minutes, add the crushed garlic and diced onion. Keep frying over a medium to high heat until the bacon and onions begin to brown.
Once cooked, drain the pasta, return to the saucepan and add the bacon, garlic and onion mixture. Add the soup and chopped tomatoes and stir until all the pasta is evenly coated.
Pour into a large oven dish and top with the grated cheese. Place in the oven and cook for 10 minutes, until cheese is bubbling!
