Preheat the oven to 180ºC (170ºC for fan ovens, 350ºF, gas mark 4). Line two baking trays with grease proof/baking paper.

Mix the butter and sugar together until creamy, then beat the egg and stir it in with the butter and sugar.

Stir the flour and cinnamon into the bowl a little bit at a time.

Once all the flour has been mixed in add the raisins and oatmeal, folding it into the mixture.

Place heaped teaspoons of mixture onto the baking trays making sure there is some space between them. There should be 12 - 13 heaped teaspoons worth depending on how big your heaps are.

Put the trays into the oven for 10-15 minutes. Then leave them to cool a little on the trays before transferring them to a cooling rack.

To prevent the grease proof/baking paper from moving around on the tray put a little butter on the tray before placing the paper on top. This will keep it in one place.
