My eldest son was born in America and my youngest son was born in the UK. They wanted to make cupcakes for the upcoming celebrations. So I had an idea to colour them by each of the countries flag. So both my sons can chear on there own country‘s with t

Heat the oven to 180°C. Put the paper cases in a muffin tray.

Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl. Add the margarine, sugar and vanilla essence.

Break the eggs into a cup and then pour into the bowl. Stir until you have a smooth mixture.

Spoon the mixture into the paper cases. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until firm and golden on top.

Leave the cakes to cool on a wire rack. Meanwhile you can make the buttercream.

Mix together the margarine, icing sugar, milk and vanilla essence. Once mixed divide into 3 bowls.

Add 1 drop of blue food colouring to one bowl and stir well.

Add 1 drop of red food coloring in another bowl and stir well.

Using a spoon cover the cupcakes with each colour of the buttercream mixture. Scatter your chosen decorations over the top.
