This lovely cake recipe is given to me by a friend. I really enjoy the orange flavour of the cake.

Rub butter into flour. Add sugar and half of the orange juice and rind. Mix in beaten egg to form a batter.

Tranfer the mixture into a greased lined loaf tin. Bake in the oven for 1hour at gas 4/180C/350F till a wooden stick insert into the centre and come out clean.

To make the glace, heat granulated sugar together with the rest of the orange juice and rind till all the sugar dissolved. Pour the glace over the cake and leave to cool.

  • 50g Granulated sugar
