Fry or grill the bacon. Leave to rest then slice into 2 inch strips.
Chop the garlic finely and fry in a pan with the onions and mushrooms. Once this mix starts to soften, season well. Boil the kettle and cook the pasta according to packet instructions.
Whilst the pasta is cooking add in the chopped chilli (and seeds if you like it hot) to the onion mix.
Drain the pasta and lightly coat in olive oil.
If you wish to add peas toss them into the onion, mushroom and chilli mix, along with the bacon for the last minute or so.
Portion out the pasta, add a generous layer of the mix on top and whack a dollop of creme fraiche to this. Enjoy!
