pasta and broccoli recipe

Put 2 pans of water on to boil - one for the broccoli and one for the pasta.

In the meantime chop the onion, cut the broccoli into small florets and chop the garlic.

When the water starts to boil add the broccoli to one pan and the pasta to the other making sure the pasta does not boil over.

In a frying pan add the oil and gently fry the onions until golden, then add the bacon lardons and finally add the garlic and do the same.

The pasta and broccoli should both be cooked after 12 minutes. When draining keep a small amount of the broccoli water. Mix the pasta, broccoli and bacon mixture all together. Add a small amount of the broccoli water. Serve into 4 pasta dishes.

Grate some pecorino cheese over the top. Buon appetito.

my children love it when the broccoli has been mashed up.
