I made this dish using Tesco's Finest Pasta ' Fusilli Lunghi' after being sent a free voucher through their Orchard Programme. My son and hubby loved the taste of this pasta and I am so glad my fussy 7 year old loved it.
Boil the pasta as per instruction and set aside.
Take a pan and put 5 tbsp oil in it. Heat it a bit and add 1 sliced red onion to it. cook the onion till golden and add the beef mince. Cook it until all the water it leaves whilst cooking is dry. Then add the ginger garlic paste. Cook for 1 minute. Then lower the heat and add the chopped tomatoes, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes. Cover and cook until the water from tomatoes has dried out. Keep stirring after 6-7 minutes. When the mince is dry and leaves oil to the sides turn the heat off. set aside.
In another large pan add 5 tbsp oil and put i chopped red onion in it. Saute the onion, then add the green pepper and cabbage. Cook the veges till softened. Then add the mince, mix well. Add 1/2 tsp salt, black pepper, soy sauce and lemon juice. Mix well. Then add the cooked pasta and mix well. Lower the heat and cook covered for 5 minutes.
Put the pasta in an oven proof serving dish. Spread cheese sauce over it and cover with grated cheese. Put it under the grill for 10 minutes until the cheese turns golden.
Serve hot with ketchup.
