Sauté onion and garlic in the oil. Cool slightly then mix with mince, ketchup, oyster sauce, parsley and cheese. Season and shape into 8 burgers. Chill for 30 minutes.
Lightly brush burgers with oil and grill or barbecue for 6-8 minutes. Serve with toasted buns and the toppings of your choice.
