A friend made this pie for me. I think this is a lovely recipe for a street jubilee party.
Slice rhubarb and chop up the apple. Place the fruit in a pan with sugar. Heat gently till the fruit is soften and sugar all melten. Add in butter. Leave t cool.
Roll out pastry to line a pie 9 inch plate. Trim off the excess pastry. Spread the cool down fruit filling in the pie.
Place the flour and butter in a fruit processor. Turn the processor on and pulsate for 30 second. Add in the caster sugar. Spoon the crumbs over the pie to over the fruit completely. roll out the excess pastry to decorate the pie.
Bake the pie in the oven for 25 minutes at Gas mark6/200C/ 400F until the pie is golden brown. Leave to cool. Sreve with fresh cream or custard.
Otherseason fruits like strawberries or gooseberries can also be used.
