mum used to make us this cake for a treat. she added the icing +coconut when we tired of plain cake,typical kids,we were!
mix flour,sugar+currants in a large bowl, beat eggs+add to bowl with the flora mix together well.
pour into 8 inch square tin[greased+lined].bake at gas 5or 190c for 45mins or till golden and it springs back when lightly touched with a finger
allow to cool in tin.make up the iciing with the lemon juice.pour all over the cake top and sprinkle with coconut. leave to set.
take out of the tin + cut into squares[or more if you like smaller pieces.
keep in an air tight tin/container.nice with a cuppa and good for visitors.
