Rossco‘s Smoky Cheese and Bacon Burgers recipe

While trailing the new 7 brands for Tesco Orchard I decided to try this recipe.

Put the onions, garlic and paprika into a pan on a low heat and sweat for 10-20 minutes until really soft.

Once the onions are soft put them in a bowl of cold water or if you have the time leave to cool completely.

In a big bowl put the mince, onions, mustard, remaining paprika and salt. Mix very well and separate into four equal amounts.

I use an individual springform cake tin to push my mince in as it makes it a perfect size. But roll or squish or squeeze into four burgers. Once done put into the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Heat a frying pan to medium hot adding the oil. Add the burgers and cook for 2 mins then flip. Once bothe sides have had two mins flip every minute until the burgers are cooked to your particular taste.

Put the cooked burgers on a grill add a rasher of bacon and 10g of cheese on each one and put under the grill u till the cheese is melted.

Serve in the toasted burger buns with your choice of salad or sauce. (I prefer Tesco sweet burger sauce)

I use smoked paprika to give the burger it‘s smoky flavour. Cooking on the barbecue would give the ultimate flavour. I serve in the photo with Tesco Redmere Sweet Potato made into fries. Also with a salad including Redmere Carrots, Nightingale Tomatos and Lettuce.

  • 500g Boswell Farm 12% Fat Mince
  • 1 Redmere Farm Brown Onion, finely diced
  • 1 Clove Redmere Farms Garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 Rashers Willow Farms Smoked Bacon, cooked until crispy
