Pre-heat the oven to Gas 6, 200°C, fan 180°C.
Heat a small frying pan on a high heat and add the sausages until well browned. Then place into a large ovenproof dish.
Return the pan to the heat and fry the onions until they are softened. Add the cider to the onions with the wholegrain mustard and season well with salt and pepper. Bring the liquid to the boil and the rosemary to the pan. Carefully pour the liquid into your oven dish and arrange the sliced apple over the top.
Cover the dish with a lid or with foil and place in the oven for 30-40 minutes.
Once cooked the apple will have gently cooked down into the cider sauce. Delicious served with baked potatoes.
