Fry onions, celery and garlic until soft and slightly browned in a large cooking pot.
Put to one side, then fry beef until seeled in the same pot. Place all cooked ingredients back into pot and put the rest of the ingredients into the same pot. Put some water in to cover the food, bring to a low simmer and put lid on, stir occasionaly.
Serve with mash or on its own with thick sliced buttered bread of choice.
This recipe tastes better the longer you cook it, it is also a good idea to let it cool down and heat back up for serving as this breaks down the stew and allows flavours to release.
