Brown the braising steak in the oil, in an oven proof dish, once browned add the onions and fry until soft then add the mushrooms and carrots and fry for 2 minutes. Add red wine and beef stock and bring to the boil.
Simmer in a cool oven at 120°C for 2 hours. When cooked serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables.
