Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil. Just before the spaghetti is cooked al dente, remove a mugful of the boiling pasta water from the pan and set aside.
Drain the pasta and turn it into the cooking pan. Immediately stir in the fromage frais and other ingredients and mix them with the pasta. If the spaghetti seems a bit dry, add some of the hot pasta cooking water and stir again. Season with black pepper and serve in hot bowls.
