In a large bowl mix together the gram flour, spices, ginger and garlic then pour in the water and mix until smooth but quite thick.

Add the grated potato and mix well.

Heat the oil in a pan and shallow fry the potatoes in small batches until they are golden.

Serve sprinkled with lemon juice.

Tip: You can improvise, and add cooked spinach as well if desired!
