Some flavours seem to go oh, so well together even when they seem like they shouldn‘t, chocolate and chilli for example. This is one of those times!
I first had a similar cocktail when out with friends and thought it was great, so different, and the competing flavours had me hooked. So obviously I had to have a go at making them before the next girls night out. After a bit of experimenting I decided that this combo worked the best for me.
Strawpepper Martini: Try it, you might just like it!
Wash the strawberries. Remove stems, chop in half then pop the strawberries in a cocktail shaker. Mash thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
Using a teaspoon, drizzle a small amount of the mashed strawberries around the lip of each Martini glass.
Dip the now sticky rim of each glass in the pepper so it is well coated.
Add the strawberry syrup, vodka and balsamic glaze to the cocktail shaker and give it a good shaking (or stir well if you prefer not to have your Martini the Bond way!)
Divide the mixture between the two glasses and sip away!
This should be drunk straight from the glass rather than with a straw so that you get the heat of the pepper to counteract the sweetness of the strawberry, the crisp vodka and the sharp balsamic. I know it sounds like an odd combination but trust me, somehow it just works!
