Sweet Cinnamon Gypsy Toast

This is an easy recipe I have known and enjoyed since childhood. It‘s quick and easy and uses food items everyone has in their kitchen cupboards. Children love it!

Cut the crusts off of the bread. Mix the eggs and milk and whisk lightly with a fork. Put the mixture into a bowl big enough to take a slice of bread. Dip one slice of bread into the mix and let it soak in. Blend the sugar and cinnamon and put to one side. Melt the butter (or marg) in a small frying pan or skillet. Place a slice of soaked bread into the frying pan and cook till golden brown on both sides. Transfer to plate. Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnmon mix. Continue with soaking and frying the slices of bread till all the egg mixture is gone. Serve and enjoy,

You could substitute sugar for honey.

  • Little Butter or Margerine For Frying
