Tamarind sauce recipe

Put the tamarind paste into a pan with the vinegar, sugar, chillies and salt. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Cool and stir in the ketchup and leave to set. Enjoy.

  • 150ml/¼ pint white distilled vinegar
  • 150g/ 6oz granulated sugar
  • 1tbsp crushed chillies
  • 1tsp salt
  • 150ml/¼ pint tomato ketchup
