Put sliced onions, carrots and mince into a deep pot and cover with water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 1 hour. Check and stir from time to time, adding more water if necessary.
Peel and cut the potatoes into thick slices. Add them to the pan and continue to cook for a further 15 minutes or until soft. Add the gravy granules and cook for a further ten minutes. Serve.
