With this quick recipe, children from six and seven upwards will be able to create a fantastic and nutritious lunch in minutes.
Ask an adult to preheat the oven to gas mark 7, 200°C, fan 180°C.
Place the bread onto the chopping board and cut two circles from each slice using the cutter – children will really enjoy making shapes from their bread.
Place the circles in the patty tin and press down.
Ask an adult to place the patty tin in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes until the bread is crunchy.
Also ask an adult to open and drain the tuna and then tip it into the mixing bowl.
With some help from an adult, wash and snip the spring onion into the mixing bowl.
Add the sweetcorn and mayonnaise and stir the ingredients together. You could try adding grated cucumber to your mixture too.
Ask an adult to remove the patty tin from the oven and allow it to cool before scooping out the bread cases using a spoon and putting them on the plate.
Spoon the tuna mixture equally into each tart.
Serve for lunch with some crisp salad.
You could try canned salmon and dill as a filling for your tarts instead, or cheese and chive, or hummus.
