Tuna steaks with rice 'n' peas recipe

My sister gave me the idea as I didn't know what to cook so she looked in my fridge and freezer and we came up with this out of all the leftovers!!

Cook rice according to pack instructions.

Meanwhile, Prepare all the veg - chop onion, chop garlic. Zest and juice the lemon ready for later.

Put a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan and cook the onion and garlic until soft (about 5 minutes), then remove from the pan and leave on a side plate.

Cook the frozen peas according to pack instructions.

Meanwhile, grill the tuna for 4-6 minutes on each side depending on how well done you like it.

The rice should be done now, so add the peas, onions and garlic to it. Then add the some of the lemon zest and juice.

Serve up - place a mound of rice mix into a plate, then a tuna steak on top. Then put over the rest of the zest and juice.


You could also try adding different frozen veg to this dish - next time I am going to try sweetcorn.
