We love warm scones for afternoon tea. These wholemeal cheese scones taste even better than the plain scones
Mix salt with flour. Rub butter into flour. Add in the milk to form a soft dough.
Turn out onto a flour board. Roll out to 2cm thickness. Use a 6cm cutter and cut into 8 rounds.
Place the scones on a greased baking tray. Brush the tops with beaten egg. Bake in the oven for10 minutes at Gas8/230C/450F
Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with butter or cream cheese.
