Mallika Basu is a food writer, presenter and author of two cookbooks: Miss Masala: Real Indian Cooking for Busy Living and Masala: Indian Cooking for Modern Living. She also writes an award-nominated newsletter In Good Taste, which explores the link between food, people and the planet, and provides recipes and stories on food and culture for a variety of other publications.

As a busy mother of two teenagers, Mallika favours easy recipes that are simple to recreate at home. She takes inspiration from the cuisine of India and ingredients from around the world, and her cooking is full of spice and flavour.

Mallika shares her recipe for Mango and rose malai pots with us – a beautifully indulgent, fruity and fragrant dessert for Diwali feasting or to enjoy year-round.
