Don't worry, these spooky slugs are actually delicious sweet treats that are perfect for a Halloween party, and what's more, they only need four ingredients to make. The slug bodies are made from sweet medjool dates dipped in milk chocolate, with mummy bandages made of white chocolate and finished with currant eyes. See method

  • 75g milk chocolate
  • 8 medjool dates
  • 1 x tube white chocolate writing icing
  • 16 currants

Method

  1. Melt the milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of just simmering water. Push a skewer into one end of each date, then roll in the melted chocolate. Place on a baking sheet and freeze for 20 mins or until set.
  2. Draw 2 tiny circles of white chocolate writing icing on the front of each chocolate-covered date for eyes, and put a currant in the middle of each for pupils.
  3. Decorate the dates with stripes of white chocolate writing icing to resemble bandages.
