The Italian Hugo spritz is your go-to summer drink – floral and aromatic, it's bursting with fresh, fragrant flavours. Topped up with prosecco and soda water, it's a lovely refreshing cocktail. See method

Ingredients

  • 20g fresh mint leaves
  • 60ml elderflower cordial
  • crushed ice
  • 300ml prosecco
  • 200ml soda water
  • 2 mint sprigs
  • 2 lime slices
If you don't have any limes, try a lemon instead

Method

  1. Muddle the fresh mint leaves in a pestle and mortar or cocktail shaker until gently crushed. Add the elderflower cordial and mix, then strain through a fine sieve between 2 wine glasses.
  2. Add crushed ice, then add 150ml prosecco to each glass. Top up each drink with 100ml soda water and garnish each with a sprig of mint and a slice of lime.
