4 sweet treats for all the festive feels

There are certain things that always get you in the mood for Christmas. Putting up the tree. Wrapping your presents. That first taste of mulled wine. And Christmas songs on the radio. Just in time for the festive season, we’ve come up with four recipes sure to give you those same festive feels, while you enjoy the big build-up with loved ones.

  1. Waffles with no-churn gingerbread latte ice-cream

Is there anything quite like walking around a Christmas market to get you in the spirit? We certainly don’t think so! Here, we’ve used Tesco Finest Belgian Sugar Waffles as a toasty base for delicious dollops of no-churn gingerbread latte ice-cream – we believe in cutting a corner or two during the holidays – teamed with crushed gingerbread and colourful sprinkles.

  2. Iced Christmas tree biscuits

Baking together is one of the best bits about the festive break. Flour dusting the worktop. Sprinkles everywhere. Not to mention taste-testing the spoils before everyone else! Our iced biscuits are shaped like mini Christmas trees and serve up bite-sized joy while giving you a brilliant reason to get creative in the kitchen with the kids. Why not make extra as edible gifts for their teachers?

  3. Meringue-topped mince pies

Decorating the tree or making a list (and checking it twice) is all the more enjoyable when you’ve got a piled-high plate of mince pies to hand, right? These are the perfect accompaniment to the cosy jobs ahead and use Tesco Finest All Butter Pastry Mince Pies as a vessel for a topping of homemade Italian meringue and caramel sauce (both of which can be swapped for shop-bought alternatives if you’re tight on time).

  4. Pomegranate & vanilla mulled wine

Just back from battling the crowds during Christmas shopping? You deserve a treat. Luckily, our twist on traditional mulled wine is just the thing, adding pomegranate and vanilla to the usual combo of red wine, fruit and spices to create a warm and comforting sip at the end of another long festive day. Swap the wine for a booze-free alternative if you want a clear head in the morning.
