How to build a yogurt bowl

The thought of a delicious, balanced breakfast can make you excited to leap out of bed in the morning. And as we head into spring and summer, you might be looking for something more refreshing and chilled than your winter porridge and toast. Look no further than an Arla yogurt bowl: combined with delectable toppings, they are flexible, tasty and pretty as a picture. Plus, they’re great for anyone in a hurry as they can easily be prepped ahead in jars or containers ready to grab the next day or make fresh in the morning in a matter of minutes.

We’ve created three delicious, balanced yogurt bowls that can easily be flexed depending on your mood and whatever you have at home.

  1. Tropical yogurt bowl

A tropical yogurt base paired with vibrant fruit is a total summer vibe.

    636x418 Kiwi & Mango

The base: Arla Protein Passionfruit & Papaya Yogurt with 20g of protein – a brilliant post-workout brekkie

The fruit: fresh kiwi slices, mango chunks – either fresh or frozen

The flavour punch: a good grating of lime zest and a sprinkling of desiccated coconut

The crunch: a teaspoon of chia seeds

Flex it: melon, pineapple, grapes or banana would work just as well with this tropical bowl

  2. Hazelnut and peach yogurt bowl

Like a bake in a bowl – this combination of fruit and nut flavours is reminiscent of a tea-time treat.

    636x418 Peach & Hazelnut

The base: Arla Skyr Natural Icelandic Style Yogurt – the thick and velvety Arla skyr has a slightly sour tang, which pairs perfectly with sweet fruits and is an ideal base for building out textures

The fruit: halved, stoned and thinly sliced ripe peach

The flavour punch: toss the peach with a drizzle of honey and half a teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves

The crunch: roughly chopped toasted hazelnuts and a pinch of milled flaxseed

Flex it: nectarines, plums or fresh figs would also pair beautifully with hazelnut

  3. Apple and maple yogurt bowl

A North American-inspired topping – who said apples were just for autumn?

    636x418 Apple & Pumpkin seeds

The base: the mild and refreshing Arla Skyr Natural Icelandic Style Yogurt stands up to tart, crisp apples and fragrant spices

The fruit: thinly sliced Granny Smith apple

The flavour punch: a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of maple syrup

The crunch: a small handful of pumpkin seeds

Flex it: raisins or sultanas would add a nice chewy texture. Why not try adding a spoon or two of low sugar granola for even more crunch.
