Sweet or savoury? You decide with a golden Yorkshire pudding loaded with spicy mincemeat and topped with a generous dollop of rich cream and a grating of orange zest. See method

Ingredients

  • 375g mincemeat
  • 50g blanched almonds, roughly chopped
  • 2½ oranges, zested
  • 10 frozen Yorkshire puddings
  • 100g marzipan, grated
  • 2½ tsp icing sugar
  • extra thick double cream, to serve

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to gas 4, 180°C, fan 160°C. Prepare a muffin tray or loosely line a small baking tray with foil, creating 4 wells for the Yorkshires to sit upright in.​ 
  2. Mix together the mincemeat, chopped almonds and ½ the orange zest, then evenly spoon the mixture into each Yorkshire pudding. Top each with the grated marzipan.​ 
  3. Cook in the oven for 12 mins, until bubbling and golden.​ 
  4. Remove from the tray to a wire rack and dust with icing sugar. Serve with double cream and sprinkle over the remaining orange zest.​
