These conference pears are baked in a buttery, warmly spiced syrup and are so incredibly simple to make for something so delicious. Serve warm or cold for breakfast, brunch or dessert with yogurt, granola, cream or ice cream. See method

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 30g unsalted butter, melted
  • 4-5 conference pears, sliced and cored

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to gas 3, 170°C, fan 150°C and line a baking tray with nonstick baking paper. Mix the maple syrup, cinnamon and melted butter in a bowl. Add the sliced pears, tossing to coat. Transfer the pears to the baking tray, scraping out all the liquid with a spatula.
  2. Arrange in an even layer, then bake for 30 mins or until starting to caramelise. Serve warm or cold to top porridge or yogurt and granola, along with a pinch of cinnamon and some chopped nuts, if you like.
  3. Keep leftover pears chilled in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
