This delicious cabbage recipe is packed with warm spices and chestnuts, making it perfect as a festive side dish or accompaniment to any hearty roast. 

  1. Core and slice the cabbage. Heat the oil in a large pot. Add the onion and cabbage and sauté for 10 minutes. Season to taste.
  2. Add the spices, sugar and vinegar, and stir well. Cook on a low heat for 15 minutes, then add the chestnuts and cook all together for a further 10 minutes.
