This delicious cabbage dish is packed with warm spices, full-bodied red wine vinegar and the woody crunch of chestnuts. As hearty as it is fragrant and vibrant, it is sure to please all of the family.
Core and slice the cabbage. Heat the oil in a large pot. Add the onion and cabbage and sauté for 10 minutes. Season to taste.
Add the spices, sugar and vinegar, and stir well. Cook on a low heat for 15 minutes, then add the chestnuts and cook all together for a further 10 minutes.
