This hearty porridge will warm you up on a cold morning and the tasty seeds and berries give it a delicious crunch. If you're in a hurry you can put the grains in water, to soak, before you go to bed, then make the porridge in the morning. Or you can even make the entire porridge the night before and reheat a serving or two, as needed, on the hob or in a microwave, with a little extra water or milk. See method

Method
- Put the soaked grains and oats in a large pan with 1ltr (1 3/4pt) of water. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and gently simmer for 10 minutes, stirring until the grains are tender.
- Add the milk and cook for 5 minutes more, until thickened. Stir in the honey.
- To serve, divide the porridge between bowls and top with the toasted seeds and berries. Drizzle with a little extra honey to taste, if you like.
Tip: For a delicious dairy-free version of this porridge, swap the semi-skimmed milk for almond, oat or rice milk.
