Ingredients

  • 750g (1 1/2lb) Granny Smith apples
  • 125g (4oz) fresh cranberries
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2tsp allspice
  • 4tbsp plain four
  • 75g (2 1/2oz) soft brown sugar
  • 50g (1 3/4oz) oats
  • 50g (1 3/4oz) flaked almonds
  • 100g (3 1/2oz) chilled butter, cut into cubes

Method

  1. Preheat oven to Gas Mark 6, 200°C, fan 180°C. In a bowl, mix the fruit with the spices, 1tbsp flour and 1tbsp sugar. Tip into a baking dish.
  2. Mix rest of the sugar and flour with the oats and almonds. Work in butter to make a crumble; scatter over. Bake for 45 minutes until crisp.
