Heat the oil in a large saucepan, add the onion and garlic, then cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened. Add the sweet potatoes and chilli flakes and cook for 1 minute.
Pour in the stock and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat, allow to cool slightly, then blend until smooth, using an electric hand blender. Spoon the soup into bowls and add the lime zest and juice. Serve with crusty bread.
