3 ways with cinnamon

It’s so much more than a porridge topper! Take your Christmas bakes to new heights with a sprinkle of cinnamon. The aromatic spice adds a wonderful warmth to these three recipes, from snowman-shaped cinnamon swirls to a glistening upside-down cake.

  1. Cinnamon snowmen

This is a great baking project to do with kids. Grab a pack of ready-rolled puff pastry, mix up some cinnamon sugar and roll into mini snowmen! You can be creative with the decorations too – we used fizzy laces for scarves and chocolate chips for eyes.

  2. Spiced hot chocolate cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream

Hot chocolate in cupcake form – what’s not to love? Delicately spiced chocolate sponge is topped with a swirl of cinnamon buttercream and mini marshmallows. The perfect treat for a wintry afternoon.

  3. Cinnamon clementine upside-down cake

Try this twist on an upside-down cake. Thin slices of clementine are steeped in a cinnamon-infused syrup in this impressive-looking festive bake. It makes a great dessert served with a spoonful of yogurt.
