Simple summer dishes inspired by Italy

Bring the flavours of Italy to life with an easy dinner and plenty of S. Pellegrino for the table. The best combination for a summer evening get-together!

Hailing from the Italian alps, S. Pellegrino is served at some of the best restaurants in the world. The water's signature bubbles and quality taste make it a great drink to sip alongside food.

Jamie Robinson, Tesco executive chef, product development, says: S.Pellegrino's gentle bubbles add elegance to mealtimes. Pair with food that’s rich in flavour, like this pasta dish with sardines and capers, fruity burrata salad and fennel-infused orzotto. It’s also a great non-alcoholic option for dinner parties.

  1. The one-pot: Prawn and fennel orzotto

In this elegant orzotto, fragrant fennel, plump king prawns and fine green beans are simmered together with stock. The dainty pasta shapes in this orzo one-pot take less time to cook than classic risotto rice, making this a real time saver! Finish with pecorino cheese and a glass of bubbly S. Pellegrino on the side.

  2. The no-cook: Tomato, peach and burrata salad

It only takes 15 minutes to put together this colourful platter of peaches, tomatoes and peppery rocket, all tossed in a lemony basil dressing. Top with chunks of creamy burrata cheese and serve with slices of griddled ciabatta bread for a light dinner or summery side.

  3. The storecupboard star: Sardine pasta with crispy capers

For a delicious alfresco dinner, plate up bucatini pasta tossed in our simple sauce of tinned cherry tomatoes, sardines and onions. For the finishing touch, fry breadcrumbs and capers until golden and crispy, then scatter over the pasta along with grated pecorino cheese. Buon appetito!
