A hearty bowl of oats packed with scrumptious pears, mixed fruit and cinnamon. This easy breakfast recipe can be made in advance to save time and effort and is wonderfully fragrant - it's sure to brighten up any morning. See method

Ingredients

  • 200g Free From oats
  • 300ml almond milk
  • 300ml apple juice

For the topping

  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 100g dried fruit mix
  • 75g pecans, roughly chopped
  • maple syrup, to taste
  • ground cinnamon, to taste
If you don't have any pears, try using apples

Method

  1. In a small bowl or lidded container, combine the oats, almond milk and apple juice; mix well. Cover and leave to soak overnight (or see tip, below) in the fridge.
  2. Divide the muesli into bowls and top with the pear slices, dried fruit and pecans. Drizzle each bowl with maple syrup and dust with cinnamon. Serve immediately.

Tip: Whip up a big batch of bircher muesli and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Add the topping just before serving.
