Ingredients

  • 200g mixed nuts
  • 1 tsp mild chilli powder
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp light soft brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil​

Method

  1. Heat the oven to gas 6, 200°C, fan 180°C. Toss the nuts with the spices, sugar, vegetable oil and a pinch of salt in a small mixing bowl, then tip onto a baking tray. Roast for 7-8 mins until lightly golden and smelling fragrant. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Pairing suggestion: Enjoy with a Smoky Ginger cocktail (makes 1). Fill a highball glass with ice, add 25ml Laphroaig 10 Year Old Single Malt and 200ml chilled ginger ale and garnish with a lemon wedge.
