There’s no special equipment needed for this classic cocktail, muddle mint and top with rum, lime, sugar syrup and ice then shake and top up with Prosecco or Champagne for the perfect lightly sparkling tipple. See method

Muddle 7 of the mint leaves in the bottom of a cocktail shaker or jam jar with a cocktail muddler or with the end of a narrow rolling pin, then add the rum, lime juice and sugar syrup. Shake hard with a small handful ice (approx 60g). If you have a three-piece cocktail shaker, strain once through the fitted strainer, then strain again through a sieve into a coupe glass. If you have a two-piece cocktail shaker or jam jar double strain through sieve.
Top up with the prosecco or champagne. Float the remaining mint leaf on top, to garnish.
