Ingredients

  • 1 ripe Hass avocado, diced
  • 1 x 400g/14oz tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp Tabasco
  • ½tsp ground cumin
  • salt, to taste
  • pitta breads and crudités, to serve
If you don't have chickpeas, you can use any tinned bean in water

Method

A healthy dip to serve 6, this creamy houmous-inspired side uses perfectly ripe Hass avocados with a touch of tabasco for a little heat. Serve with warm pitta brea or homemade crudité for a tasty snack.

  1. Destone avocado.
  2. Simply blend all of the ingredients together in a food processor until smooth.
  3. Put the houmous in a bowl and cover with cling film and chill in the fridge for one hour.
  4. Serve with warm pitta breads and crudités.
