Nothing beats a homemade salsa and this recipe with juicy cherry tomatoes and the heat of red chilies, is a real crowd-pleaser. It's versatile enough to be served as an appetizer with a handful of tortilla chips or as a relish to spice up barbecued meats, chicken and fish.

  1.  Tip the tomatoes into a bowl with the red onion slivers and chopped chilli. Pour over the lime juice and olive oil, then gently stir in the sugar, parsley and basil. Season with a little salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Goes well with barbecued meats, chicken and fish, or with tortilla chips as an appetizer.
