Ingredients

  • 1 apple, peeled and grated
  • 200g frozen black forest fruits

For the french toast

  • 2 free range eggs
  • 2 tbsp semi-skimmed milk
  • 2 slices thick wholemeal bread
  • 2 tsp sunflower oil
If you haven't got any wholemeal bread, try using white instead

Method

  1. Place 2 tbsp water, apple and frozen fruit into a pan and cook over a medium heat for 3-4 minutes until they are completely warmed through. Meanwhile, beat the eggs and milk together, then soak the bread slices in the mixture, turning a couple of times to make sure all the liquid has been absorbed.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the slices of bread and cook gently, turning a couple of times until the bread is golden brown on both sides.
  3. Cut the bread in half diagonally and serve topped with the fruit.
