Blended frozen bananas are the perfect dairy-free alternative to ice cream. Not only is this dessert completely delicious, but it's super easy to make with just two ingredients. See method

Method

  1. Cut the bananas into even-sized chunks, then place in a freezer bag and freeze for 2 hrs or until just solid.
  2. Place the frozen chunks in a food processor and pulse for a couple of minutes until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Keep pulsing, and scraping down the sides, until the mixture turns smooth and creamy like softly whipped ice-cream. Whiz through the honey, then stir through any flavourings (see Tip).
  3. Serve immediately or put in a freezer container and freeze for up to 1 month.

Tip: For a flavour twist, try stirring through 15g dark chocolate chips, 15g dried cherries or ½ teaspoon vanilla extract. To make this recipe vegan, swap the honey for maple syrup or agave nectar.
