Blended frozen bananas are the perfect dairy-free alternative to ice cream. Not only is this dessert completely delicious, but it's nutritious too! With only two ingredients this tasty treat is really simple to prepare.
- Cut the bananas into even-sized chunks, then place in a freezer bag and freeze for 2 hours or until just solid.
- Place the frozen chunks in a food processor and pulse for a couple of minutes until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Keep pulsing, and scraping down the sides, until the mixture turns smooth and creamy like softly whipped ice-cream. Whiz through the honey, then stir through any flavourings (see Tip).
- Serve immediately or put in a freezer container and freeze for up to 1 month.
Tip: Stir through 15g (1/2oz) dark chocolate chips or whiz 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract with the honey. Then stir in 15g (1/2oz) dried cherries.
