Christmas cocktails don't get much better than this. Featuring a beautiful blend of winter berries and garnished with a sugar rim, a strip of orange zest and a candy cane, it's the ultimate festive tipple. See method

Ingredients

  • lime or lemon wedge
  • sugar, to coat the rim of the glass
  • 50ml cranberry juice
  • 25ml sloe gin
  • 25ml vodka
  • handful ice cubes
  • few strips of orange zest, to serve
  • 1 candy cane, to serve

Method

  1. Place a martini glass in the freezer 5 mins before you want to serve the cocktail.
  2. Meanwhile, pour the cranberry juice, sloe gin, vodka and ice into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  3. Remove the glass from the freezer. Rub the rim of your martini glass with the lime or lemon wedge, then put the sugar in a small, shallow dish and dip the glass in the sugar to create a frosty rim effect.
  4. Strain the mixture into the sugar-rimmed glass. Decorate with the orange zest and a candy cane to serve.
