Made with rustic bread, gorgeous, gooey Camembert, sweet apple salsa and lots of love, this Valentine's starter is sure to impress. A really easy recipe and a great way to kick off a romantic meal.
- Preheat the oven to gas 6, 200°C, fan 180°C. In a small baking dish or heatproof bowl, combine half the Camembert with the soft cheese and spread it out to cover the base.
- Scatter over the remaining Camembert, followed by the nuts. Season with a little freshly ground black pepper. Bake for 10 mins, or until golden and bubbling. Remove and set aside to cool a little. Meanwhile, make the apple salsa. In a small bowl, combine the apple, cucumber and shallot. Add the apple sauce, vinegar and mustard; toss to coat.
- Put the melted cheese dish and toast on a serving board or plate. To serve, spread a little cheese mixture on toast and top with the apple salsa. Garnish with the watercress.
