This baked kale is a great addition to a Chinese feast. A little Chinese five spice and a sprinkling of sesame seeds before roasting adds delicious flavour to this satisfyingly crispy side – you may even want to bake a batch to enjoy as a healthy snack. See method

- 400g kale
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice
- 1 tbsp light brown soft sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Method
- Preheat the oven to gas 6, 200°C, fan 180°C. Spread the kale on 2 baking trays and drizzle with the oil. Scrunch it with your hands to distribute the oil.
- Mix the five-spice, sugar and sesame seeds and sprinkle over the kale, then roast for 7 mins. Toss well, then roast for 5 mins until crispy.
