Refreshing and zingy, it’s no wonder the margarita is such a classic summer cocktail, perfect for any alfresco evening with friends. And for even more zing, we’ve added a little lime zest to the salt rim.
- Place 4 martini glasses in the freezer 5 minutes before you want to serve the margaritas.
- Meanwhile, half-fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the tequila, Cointreau and lime juice and shake well for 30 seconds.
- Place the salt in a small, shallow dish and zest in a little of the lime.
- Remove the martini glasses from the freezer. Rub a lime wedge around their rims to moisten and dip into the salt to coat them. Fine strain the margaritas into the glasses and serve immediately.
